The bedroom needs decorating, I’ll get some paint
The loo won’t flush, I feel a bit faint.
I need to go shopping the cupboards are bare
I’ll just get a shower and wash my hair
I really wish you had offered me a subject
Looking for inspiration, I’m feeling inept.
The state of the country, or the new Prime Minister
I’m struggling to decide, maybe something sinister
The summer weather here is pretty poor
The delivery driver left a gift at my door.
A book arrived by a fresh new author
I’ll enjoy it with coffee in a cup with a saucer
Maybe a biscuit or a delicious cake
That might be a big mistake.
Coffee made, I’m sitting on my comfy chair
Nice new book in my hands ready to share
My Seat at the Table it’s called on the cover
Pop on my glasses, relax, and recover.
