Autumn Update

Autumn Update | This summer has been one of sheer delight, warm afternoons spent in the garden sipping a cold drink whilst planning new adventures with Uther and others. I visited several schools before they finished for their summer holidays. Engaging with students through reading about Uther proved to be an effective way to observe their interest and enthusiasm for literature, particularly as we explored his journeys and interactions with Egor. Watching them peer at me as they absorb everything like little sponges. Many of the younger children enjoy cuddling an Uther cushion during these reading sessions, and the older ones like nothing more than to wear my hat and pass it around the classroom, great fun. All the children are amazing and very good listeners, answering and asking questions about me, my writing, and stories yet to emerge. As a writer, what could be better?

Much of the sunny summer was spent with me refining Uther Part 2, which was an absolute dream to write. In Uther Part 2, we have a few new friends: the introduction of Ragna, Pilot, and Ashan, young green dragons who assist with several incidents. There’s also wicked witch Fanella in her stripey socks, who manages to overstep the mark with Uther, resulting in her being restrained. So, writing has been interesting and fun.

I have continued to enjoy the gym, walking, and writing new stories about life, getting ready for my next adult book, My Controversial Seat at The Table, which will be launched in the new year 2026.

I have embarked on a few other children’s projects, unrelated to Uther, which you may see in the future.

So, that is summer explained, now what about autumn? Many Uther things are happening, more visits to local schools booked into the diary, and there’s the project to help less fortunate children with Uther’s Christmas Charity Box, which local businesses are sponsoring. These lovely boxes are to be donated to children’s charities and hospices, who are all excited to be receiving these kindly sponsored gifts.

Then, there’s The Dragon Club, which continues to grow daily with new members, who will also continue to enjoy the new monthly activities. Building up in readiness for Christmas seems too soon after the summer sun, but it’s going to arrive quickly. Obviously, we have Halloween, Firework night before all the festive stuff. The next few months will be busy. I’m looking forward to connecting with you—whether it’s face-to-face or as you read my books.

Take care, and I’ll write another blog post just before Christmas. Work hard at school, and I’ll reach out again soon.
