As an active child, I was always a tomboy
Playing football, climbing trees, no dolls as my toy
As I grew, I found music and danced my way
Always carefree and laughing, my favourite play.
Sports I enjoyed, and still love today
I’ve added scuba diving to my array
Travel I love, but not airplane food
If I want pure quality, it might change my mood.
Dancing is fun, I will always move to a song
I go to the gym and try to stay strong
Pilates, yoga, meditation, I’m no fool
Clear mind, a healthy body, and good food as my fuel.
All animals alive I have a passion for
Donating to the threats some wildlife endure
I have had treasured dogs in my life with awesome sense
Who have helped me cope with devastating events.
My poetry started when I was in my teens
English not my best subject, but just in my genes
A gift or a reminder of a birthday or an event
Situations of humour, my pen wrote as I meant.
My Seat At The Table is my eyes as I view
It’s not controversial, it’s what I see as true
Agree or not, each seat at the table of life delivers
After reading my poems, your views may be like rivers.
They’ll flow and agree, or ebb and be different
It’s my seat I write from, trying to be considerate
The clouds in the sky, or the sunset before dusk
The latest perfume, being floral or strong musk.
Fast cars on a track, or lazing on a beach
People watching, as they behave, some raging a siege
Everything I hear or see always makes me think
I add rhyming words to my thoughts, some might say they stink.
I am happy with my words as they rhyme on this page
I know it’s my path, my universal stage
I may pace the room when the appropriate word eludes me
But I know it will come, my mind the referee.
