After a fantastic summer, writing more Uther stories in the garden while sipping a cool drink, I am now getting into the festive season, and the launch in November of Uther’s Christmas Magic minibook was a reminder that Christmas isn’t many weeks away. Doesn’t time fly?
Halloween was a treat, not a trick, with many children knocking on doors while collecting lots of sweets. One child arrived carrying a large black bin liner to collect their sweets, a bit ambitious, but with heavy clown makeup on and a long black cloak, the scene was set.
Soon after, Guy Fawkes and fireworks took centre stage, always a joy at the local park—bright colours, banging and whizzing, creating a spectacular night sky lit up for 30 minutes. The bonfire was the backdrop, with a fairground of rides, sweets, and a ghost house, which meant blood-curdling screams could be heard into the night.
The evenings are getting darker and colder. Winter boots, hats, coats, and scarves are emerging from storage as the drop in temperature coincides with the dark evenings, which are often illuminated by a massive moon staring down at us as we begin to hibernate, hunkering down by a log fire with a good movie.
I have been reading in schools and having great fun and laughs with all the pupils. One school asked if I could write a story about Uther saving the day at their school. I am definitely looking at a promising storyline for that particular school, and I believe I have outlined another adventure for Uther to save the day.
Well, my pen is calling, and my fingers are itching to start writing.
Stay warm, keep snuggling down with Uther at bedtime, and I’ll write another blog very soon.
Another wonderful day with Uther.
A festive blog sent with best wishes,
IamKDK
